Super Unleaded - Outer Hebrides
Discussion
I'm off to the Outer Hebrides soon for a week. I'll be driving over (Uig to Tarbert ferry over) and touring the islands, circa 250 miles while over there.
I was planning to take a car that doesn't like anything less than 97ron and from what I can see the closest petrol station I can get it from is BP at Fort William, 120 miles prior to getting on the boat.
Does anyone know of a filling station on the A87 to and through skye or indeed anywhere on the islands that does higher octane fuel?

Wish I'd known that when I was up last week. I splashed in a bit of 95 Ron at manor and couldn't find any octane booster. GetCarter said:

Hi there... long time no... etcCheers Finlay
I bought another R500 (the next generation) and had that for a few years... but traded it in for an R8. Not sure what I'll get next. Should really be sensible!
I hear you had clear skies last night... it was cloudy here so we missed it all - having stayed up most of the night

ETA - I assume you've read >>> http://www.ur-web.net/PeterMayMain/lewispage.html We really enjoyed it.

those old boxy Renault saloons were very popular at one time....

Hi steve, R8? Which model? I still have the 996Turbo, owned it for years now and cant really bare to part with it.
Yes the Lewis Trilogy are excellent books, have you read Entry Island by Peter May yet, its excellent and well worth a bash. Also his latest Runaway is very good.
Cheers

stuff
Sorry for the 'off topic' O/P !Yep read Entry Island. He has another coming out in the summer apparently. Another great read is 'I am Pilgrim' Best thriller I've read in years.
I also had a 996tt - swift aren't they! I had the V8 R8, but sold it as we seem to take our dog everywhere these days and there wasn't enough room in the engine bay for a bearded collie! Currently have the V6 supercharged Audi Quatro Avant.
