Arnold Clark Kia Aberdeen/Glasgow

I'm always hearing about how bad they are on forums so praise where praise is due, these guys have been great!

I bought a Kia pro Cee'd Sport from their Aberdeen branch and noticed that in the mornings or when it had been left for a while, it was a bit hard to select 1st and 2nd gear. I also noticed a wee click/rattle when breaking so asked them to have a look at both problems under their 60 day warranty.

Got a phone call last Thursday (from the Glasgow branch) fully expecting a raft of excuses and to be told it was okay. Nope, they are replacing the clutch and fitting a new set of Kia break pads as the other were slightly smaller hence the click/rattle.

Have even been offered the use of a courtesy car while they have the car for two days. Can't fault them so far.

Disappointed that the clutch in the car has only lasted 33,000 miles although that could have been the fault of the previous driver. Other than that, I'm quite impressed with the Kia. Definitely a rival to my old Astra and probably other cars in the same class.

It's not what you want to hear but why wrong pads fitted and why clutch lasting 33k miles Kia's have 7 year warranty dont they?

Good question about the clutch. Could be that the previous owner rode it a lot.

The pads were for my car but a pattern part fitted by the previous owner. Happy none the less that it's being fixed for free and with good customer service.

Are you sure it was the previous owner who fitted pattern parts/had them fitted, and how do you know?

My guess is part of the prep on your car by the Aberdeen branch before they sold it to you was to replace worn pads and they elected to fit cheap pattern ones.

As much as I'd love to praise Arnold I've just got a brand new, new model Corsa from them on Friday and I've had nothing but hassle (with them, not the car)

Bought a new car from London road branch in Glasgow last week, totally painless transaction.
Heard all the horror stories but young salesman (Callum) was faultless.

Glasgow Kia branch (Springburn Road) is not long opened, maybe 6 months or so, acquiring the franchise from Phoenix Kia who had it at Dumbarton Road, Arnold Clark was previously just a Fiat/Abarth franchise, so they'll be trying to make a name for themselves with the Kia franchise.

Nice car too the Pro C'eed, I have driven a 5 door C'eed 1.6 CRDi '2' for quite a while at work before and found it quite pleasant to drive, the Rio (previous model 2011 reg) and Picanto (newest model) on the other hand are awful
