Taken at the A-90 cut-off to Cove/Abdn Harbour.
That video is terrifying!

Did the rounds on e-mail earlier. Lucky escape to say the least. You would need to be a total spack-tard to not realise that is a slip road.Taken at the A-90 cut-off to Cove/Abdn Harbour.

Actually the road is a little confusing and I could see some folk getting it wrong.I use that bit of road everyday and am very weary of finding someone coming the wrong way toward me.
It's fine when it's busy - but when quiet a different ballgame !
Although by the time you get to the a90 you should be thinking summat no right here - Guessing inexperienced drive etc !!!
If she'd come all the way on Wellington Road, she'd have to have been on the wrong side for quite some distance.

My guess is that she came out of that road just by the "d" of "Wellington Road" and turned right on to the town bound carriage-way.
I found the video absolutely shocking.
Cheers,
Eric

She joined the Northbound carriageway off your picture (bottom left)

But the Lorry was heading Northbound towards Aberdeen. Hence the Corsa must have been heading south.

My guess is that instead of following the flyover right round to join the northbound carriageway, she tried to join the southbound and pulled into the oncoming lane as the road turns back on itself:

This is where it happened - there's even a strategically placed lorry pretty much where the first lorry just missed her !

Was that like a couple of days ago? Noticed some police around there on Saturday.
Its after the fly over and where your continue round to go northbound. The boy must have thought that was the way to the southbound motorway too
I think that was another Aberdeen muppet who overcooked the downhill whilst towing a trailer. Result: Road closed for another fecking 5-6 hours! Its after the fly over and where your continue round to go northbound. The boy must have thought that was the way to the southbound motorway too
What is going on up there?

Do you have to class all the good people of Aberdeen as muppets that just ain't nice and not true. What is going on up there?

Not all, just a significant proportion of the population seem to lack the driving skills you would expect from an affluent area with high proportion of well educated people. There does seem to be a higher muppetry quotient than most other areas as witnessed by the carnage on the Aberdeenshire roads and oft reported in P&J and EE. Well covered in another thread a short while back.
Are you a driving god?

Quite honestly the standard of driving in and around Aberdeen is awful. I cannot determine whether it is the total isolation of the place by which they develop a driving habit unique to Aberdeen, or are they simply dumb and have no awareness of the highway code. They use slip roads as 't' junctions, cut you up if you try to use it as a slip road, have absolutely no lane sense, become totally psychotic if you indicate and try to change lane, jump the lights continually, need the list go on? I would dearly love to see an experiment by 'beaming' an Aberdeen driver onto a real motorway or autobahn and count down the seconds until their demise. The experience of driving among Aberdonians is truly spine chilling!

I'll chime in here and say that you have not driven anywhere but Aberdeen.Edited by jimsdub on Sunday 8th September 13:49
I find the standards of driving here are generally better than most other places. I have the misfortune of having a divertion off the M25 the other weekend as i was driving home from france and i had to cut through inner London to get to the M1 to head north again. The standard of driving (and bare in mind this is at 130am) was shocking, people were using the right hand lane to turn left. It was a mess.
