1987 350i Steering column adjuster/spring

Hi peeps


Do any of you have a spring on the steering column adjuster housing...its approx 20cm long..and doesn't look big enough to be of great importance...but mine came off and not sure where it goes...any pics would be great...

No spring on either of mine. They look the same as Colins photo, including wiring spaghetti.

Hi Mark, having reassembled my column I can’t recall seeing any springs?

Only spring in that area are attached between the pedal box and pedal arm

Thanks Adrian...it is rather a long spring...longer than the clamp by miles....Ill get under there and have a look....
