TURN THE VOLOME DOWN

Mine is set up for unleaded but that is me. Need to check with the previous owner. Lenses I suspect you will have to buy new. As for the nieghbours, I have had death threats so don't worry

Also there is agood search function on PH that will probably answer your question. Its in the drop down links at the top of the page.

well paul how old is your wedge.. i have done some research on this and there appears to be a difference between shell optimax 98+ ron and also and bp advance (ron not stated) i am still unsure as to weather you can run a poss leaded car on this stuff. i think that the bp stuff is different to optimax as no one sems to be able to tell me what ron it is (also used to measure rum and bacardi..) i have been running my 85 280i on optimax for 1 month now and acording to richard at moore raceing it should be ok and poss 8bhp difference. he races all his cars on optimax( no probs yet )by the way he is a great sourse of info and only lives about a mile from me....lucky me....!!!

Use Optimax. It will run fine in your car without any adjustment.
I find my 350 pinks under load on anything else

i would not use too much redex as it perishes gaskets and stuff, if i were you i would pop into my local land rover main dealer and ask them if your engine is ok to run on normal unleaded( give engine no ) and adjust timing accordingly, this should sort out pinking, i have been reliably told that even if leaded you can run optimax with no probs but timing still may need adjusting but i could be wrong...

Paul - stop using capitals ... that's akin to "shouting" when you're posting (hence Jeff's comment to "turn the volume down") - Streaky

The good news is that ALL of the Rover V8 engines that TVR used have hardened valve seats and will run on just about anything, you just need to adjust the timing slightly. (ie all fuel injected Rover V*s have hardened valve seats.)

The Bayford trust 4 star at 101/102 ron is probably best but difficult to find. Shell Optimax is probably the best practicle alternative (98 ron.) The BP stuff is 97 ron. Unleaded is 95 ron. LRP is expensive crap.

Yes cheers Paul,
Not had chance to strip it down but it makes a nasty grating sound when you try to turn it manually. Probably just a bearing shot. Hope your recon one holds up

I had my 350i adjusted to run on unleaded and it has given no probs at all. Cheapest is best. If your engine has been tweaked, then you may need to see what works best. If it has standard compression, standard unleaded should suffice.
