Customising the appearance of your Rover V8
Discussion
I've got into correspondence with a chap who is developing a range of customised items for the Rover V8. I found him when enquiring about S/S cap screws.
At present, it appears that Rimmer Bros, RPi Engineering, Leven technologies and RT Racing are teh main suppliers, but the range of items is small.
This chap has already produced S/S cap screws for the rocker cover
and inlet manifold
.
He will have a Chevy rocker cover conversion kit available next week - allowing the fitting of the full range of chrome, alloy and power coated covers available for the Chevy engine. He has chrome Edelbrock ones in stock at present.
He also has test samples of chrome dipsticks, thermostat housings and water pump pulleys in stock, and hope to have alternator fans and pulleys in next month.
He has been asked about front crankshaft pulleys and might be persuaded to produce a run of these.
He says that he could supply S/S cap screws for the plenum chamber.
I have asked him for photographs and prices and said that I would enquire (here at at BBWF) what sort of interest there would be and in which items. The S/S bolts for the plenum chamber would certainly enhance the look immediately (even with an unpolished plenum chamber) and the S/S bolts for the rocker covers would look good with powder-coated covers; probably better than the T-bolts Rimmers sell.
So, do you have a wish-list?
Streaky
PS - I have no financial interest in this - S

IM not too enthused about stainless in the engine bay, but as mentioned at the Surrey Meet, I plan on attacking the engine bay after Le Mans with a few cans of yellow & Blue.
The Plenum is going to be painted Blue with the fins on the top polished (Dremmel!)
The fuel rail coloured Yellow, the FSE Fuel regulator (Yellow)
The rocker covers are black, and everything else will be painted Blue.
(airfilter, airflow meter, alternatorm flame trap)
I woudlnt mind getting the pullies all shiney though.
The butterfly I intent to clean and respray in that cadmium yellow stuff
I will source some alloy header tanks and have these in either stainless or polished ali though.

I bet if you had words with our man Stainless Steve, he could probably do stainless header tanks and so on...
Ian
Would be interested to see what prices / parts he has, as since I removed every nut and bolt from the engine bay, they have been replaced with stainless, plus stainless hex cap bolts on everything that attaches to the engine, like headers, inlet, fuel system, watepump, but it has been a nightmare sourcing everything.
Would like to go stainless header tank, swan necks, pulleys etc

I wouldn't use stainless screws,i would use mild steel, and send them off to be chromed.
If anyone wants to use stainless steel screws i get 75% discount
Yep, i would rather walk barefoot on broken glass than try to get a sheared S/S bolt out of an exhaust manifold
other than a spark eroder forget it
DJE are doing shiny pullys. Well were a while ago. Off the shelf. Have to check with him first.
