I've just heard from within the Car Club that McLaren have bought TVR. Anyone else heard anything?

A search on Mclaren's website produced:

Search results
About 0 pages matched the query tvr
no matches

I do like that, "about 0 pages"!

I'd heard that the factory had been sold a few weeks back to someone completely different.

Facts are scarce in these difficult times

If this is true it can only be good as it will increase the brand image even further, Which in turn will have a halo effect on older TVR pushing prices up.

I think it would be nice just to hear something definitive, one way or the other.

I think the only thing definitive is that its a 'definitive rumour'!

In a normal business acquisition/merger the parties inform the media (or stock exchange) at the appropriate time. Until then in most tranactions both parties deny all knowledge!

Same company did the castings on the S6 as did work for Maclaren. Which engine did you have experience with?

Except TVR is not a listed company on the Stock exchange - they are share limited with PW owning nearly all shares.

It will get noted at companies house though.

Thank God i got a bit of support for that!!!! i felt like a traitor to the marque But really it doesn't matter a jot to most of us as lets face it Trevor Wilkinson himself didn't like Wedges untill he was introduced to the SEAC years after he was "ousted"

Whilst I haven't done a full company search, it seems that no changes have been registered so far.

There is a period of time to make any Co. House changes and a further period while Co. House update their records, then a further period until it is available online.

davidy

BTW rev-erend my post earlier was generic, I am fully aware that TVR are not a listed company. Company sales are descisions of the board and shareholders and usually are a private matter until a formal announcement is made. I have been in this position a couple of times (Sale/Merger/etc) and informing the media (and staff) sometimes is not in the best interest until any deal has been fully completed.

No doubt the new owners will make a press announcement at some point !
