North Yorks meet at Kirkham tonight.
Discussion
What a day
got the wedge through the MOT at the second attempt in as many hours, drove round a bit to make sure four years of stationary life hadn't seized up anything vital, got home at 6.40pm and found email from Rich Abbot that a drive out was leaving Wighill at 7.30 to "a pub near Kirkham"
Dropped a friend off in Harrogate and realised I wouldn't make the Wighill rendevous so set off for Kirkham with no map....never mind I thought, it's a beautiful evening for lid down driving so what the hell...
.....got lost near Stamford Bridge, and asked the way. Got lost again but steered by the sun and found a sign for Kirkham at last. Arrived at a big pub after a mile with a Green Chimaera out front, oh, and look! lots of other TVR's
Got a pint and was accosted by Stainless Steve and his Missus, rendevous complete!
Goggled at the shiny bits on Steves awesome SEAC 450 and chatted with folks from the N. Yorks TVRCC for a bit before a really enjoyable open top blat home in the twilight in convoy with a gold Chimaera and Steves SEAC behind.
I slowed down at the entrance to the tunnel under the runway at Yeadon airport and Steve blatted past at full bore in 2nd - Bliss
Thanks for making me feel welcome Steve, great to put a face to the name, hope the rest of your blat home was good!

Great meeting you Roger, thank's for making the effort to turn up, i know it's been a long day for you,bet you will sleep well tonight.![]()
Nice to see 5 Wedges at the meet
Too right it's been a longh day mate!
Awake at 5.30am I was
At a business meet at 7.00
At the garage at 9.00
And enjoing a pint with you and your lady at 9.30pm
Now I'm off for some

I was hoping to make this one, but by teatime the weather up here was looking pants, and the little job I was doing on me Julie's car wasn't finished, so I thought the accumulation of legover-points was worth mssing the meet...
Later on, as we sat on the verandah (OK, terrace
) in the setting sun with a glass of wine she said: "Nice night, we should've gone for a ride out..."
Hope a good time was had by all... despite the plod doing their level best to nick folk on the A19 tonight, as reported by my bro, who spotted sundry scamera vehicles in ludicrously-covert locations...

Hmm, maybe trying to buy toluene in this country with the current terrorist hoohah and paranoia might attract the wrong sort of attention...
My wedge seemed quite happy on shell optimax last night, but then it's not tuned for high performance...yet

Judging by what Wedg1e said about skamera cars on the A19 last night you might have been better enjoying the twisties through Malton - Helmsley - Stokesley to get back to Teesside....
