After an unnerving few weeks following the crashing of my wedge, things have taken a turn for the better!

At first I was worried since my insurance company couldn't get any response from the guy that caused the crash. They'd written and phoned, but nothing. Since the police were at the scene immediately I didn;t get to speak to the other guy to get his insurance details so I couldn't give them to my insurance co. The couldn't find him or his car on any registers or data bases. About 3 weeks later I was almost about to turn up on his door with 'the lads' to have a word, when I get a call from Norwich Union telling me he was their client and he'd reported and accepted liability.

Then there was the car itself. It's at Richard Thorpes and the total quote came to £3200. This is for a 280...I wasn't hopefull...but after bugging the insurance assessor constantly for a few days and thanks to the 2 £4.5K 280s on the PH classifieds at the moment he's authorised the repair! I'm sooo relieved.

Plus now I have his insurance details I can get my courtesy car. Rang them today and they're sorting it. They don't have TVRs in their fleet but, apparently they try as close as possible to give you a like for like car. I'm expecting a 20 year old Granada
