First of all , thanks to everyone who came along , we enjoyed and hope you all did ( With the exception of the obvious )

... OK , so there I was , wearing out more shoe leather walking around , when I come across , "Wedge" with bonnet up, and man with multimeter and head down in the nether regions . In the spirit of all things wedge shaped , I merrily chirp that I have the bible in the car if he needs it .

....... half an hour later , I discover the man I'm offering to help is ........MARK ADAMS .. thanks Mark for taking it in the spirit in which it was intended ... but I still feel a prat !

What a great little anecdote. I think you'll be dining out on that one for a while.

I had something similar happen at my wedding.

My wife and I got married at Silverstone and they threw in a little surprise that we knew nothing about - a parade lap in a pair of race-school Elises.

My driver introduced himself as Rob and as we were driving round asked me what I drove and I told him I had a TVR. He told me that he drove a TVR in the GT Championships, but it didn't really register (things were a bit of a blur really).

It was only later that I realised that, of course, the only racing driver called Rob who has driven a TVR in the GT Championship was none other than Rob Barff.
