350i battery question

It's been some time since I drove my 350i and now I find unsuprisingly the battery is dead as a doornail. I tried unsuccesfully to charge it, so I need a new one. I seem to remember a thread (a couple of years ago) about people having trouble getting the right battery. Can anybody tell me what kind I need, and if possible a good place to get one.
