I am at present looking for a Granada containing such a motor.

I'll be getting a specialist to do the swappery for me though. (I don't understand injection, plus all those fancy connections). I believe a shortened prop is also required on mine, because of different box.

GW, what gearbox are you using?? you can use the type 9.. although a T5 may be a better bet in the long run

Don't do it! At least not to that car... find a later chassis (more room and stiffer in some places).

Oh dear - there I go, running away with myself again !

I realise major work will be involved, and I'll get it done 'properly'.

Actually fitting the engine isnt much of a problem, as the block bolts to the same mounts.. a little fiddling at the front is required... the biggest headache is the manifolds and exhaust. but with a few racers fitting this engine there is the possibility of off the shelf parts as most of them are going to the same place for the exhaust.

if your just swapping the engine and not modding it is should only be a little more complicated than refitting a 2,8.

the 2.9 12v is a better engine than the 2.8 its got 3 port heads and electronic fuel injection.
the conversion is possible and simpler than the 24v but you'll still need to get new headers made and the engine loom and ecu ect. but all possible.

Edited to say :- with the 4x4 engine you'd need to change the sump and oil pickup as well...

Princess 4 pots, vented discs, etc.

Back end - hmm, need to think.

Poly bushes all round.

Better fuel pump too.

This is sounding more and more like a body-off !
