Hi everyone, I give my car to my garage for cooling trouble, the fan doesn't start at right temp but at 50°C and stop after!
They call me today: it's an electric trouble around the sender unit but they need the cooling electric diagram.
I'll must buy the Steve Heath wedge bible, but it'll be late, the garage closed for holiday friday and I want to spend my holiday with my car!

Please help me !!!

Temporary fix could be to have the fan running constantly (bypassing the switch), and take it on holiday. Ok, it will cool all the time, but temporarily it is not too bad.

Have a nice holiday,

I agree with this. Easiest way is to bypass the otter switch on the side of the radiator. Pull the wires off and put a good quality female spade connector with an extra male tag on one of the wires. Then just connect one to the other.

Yes please, thank you Jason

Thanks Rob and Roger too, but I'm afraid the fan don't like to run constantly, I'll do it if I can't do otherwise

If you can get to the otter switch connections just pull the cables off of the terminals, connect two longer cables to them and run these back through the bulkhead to underneath the dash somewhere and put them on a switch.

When you turn the switch on it will make the connection just as the otter switch would and it will pull the fan relay in and run the fan.

Obviously you will have to keep an eye on the temp gauge but it is always handy to have an overide switch anyway.

It's a good solution ! and the fan doesn't run constantly, I already have this installation in my Reliant Scimitar but as secondary fan !
Thanks

So you have the experience/knowledge, and this will mean a good holiday?
Running them constantly should not be an issue, only when the fan is about to let go only.

My 390SE doesn't have an otter switch. The fan is operated by a switch with a LED "annunciator" ( ). I switch on in traffic and (breifly) when leaving (eg.) motorway after fast motoring - Streaky
