What car is the speedo cable from ? I am assuming it is a Rover item ? The cable is in two halves, first bit which has broken runs from gearbox to a transducer unit on the offside inner wing near the bulkhead, then a shorter cable running from transducer to the speedo.
Is it a problem to get to the cable where is goes into the gearbox or is it straight forward, I have not got round to looking yet !!!

I had the same cable go about 3 weeks ago, I think I had the last one availible, sorry. Try Gatwick TVR, spares 01293 822611 (he got my speedo cable 3 weeks ago)or Speedy Cables Hertford 01992 581600.
The gearbox end is fitted with a male square fitting that goe's into the gearbox drive, don't throw that away as the new cable will not have it on and you cannot get them, (You have to cut the cable close to the fitting and then carefully drill out the old cable from the fitting, Araldite the new cable onto the fitting.
