Hi everyone.

Now project superwedge has commenced I'm now on the hunt for some new bits.

The main thing I'm after is a new dash as mine is not so great.

Did I one hear of someone making them?
(tried doing a search but didn't find much)

Failing that does anyone have and old one, or one of the metal backing plates which the veneer is adhered to as mine no longer has the plate and has a home made one instead, which is a little wonky.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm a little stuck on this one and don't think I'm really well equipped enough (or skilled enough come to that) to manufacture my own.

Series 1 F/H 280i (all complete,but non-runner) sold on ebay today for 410 quid !

I was tempted, but too many other irons in the fire at present - like 2.9i cossie 24v transplant.
Still trying to locate the right donor vehicle.

Hi, i've a dash set for a series 1 280i FHC that i no longer use (ive played about and put a Stack 8130 unit in) the veneer is a bit worse for wear around the steering cowl area, and i cant vouch for how well the dials work (smiths with the vertical odometer) but its all available

Regards
Iain

Top man!

I don't actually need the dials or anything I just need the metal plate that has the veneer mounted on it.
The condition of the veneer isn't important I can sort that later.

I'm in Manchester so not too far from Cheshire, email me with how much you want for it.

I'm also very intrested in how you went on fitting a stack unit instead. Was it straightforward, how much do these things cost?

Got any pictures of it?

Stack units cost about the same as a small african nation...i spent my golden handshake for joining the company im at after leaving uni on it. I've got photos of the dash, both the orignal that you want and my new one, but im planning on putting a carbon fibre fascia on...i've really tinkered with the original dash set up. Will email them when i get home.

The thing that really got me with the Stack unit is that it comes with a full loom and all the senders (that luckily are the right theads for a V6) so the few hundred quid extra over a set of dials was worth it.

I cant imagine these dashes going for much, so a couple of beer tokens will be fine, will let you see the photos of it before you decide how many.

Iain
