As I have both a 350 and a 400 dash I will measure the width and let you know,I'll try for height and depth to. Also length as the 400 goes all the way back to the rear parcel shelf. Although if memory serves me correct do you not have coupe model ?
Yes i've an series 1 280i FHC, the critical bits are the overall width and the height of the top of the dash to the tope of the transmission chunnel. The lenth of the centre console back isnt such a major issue.
To give you an idea of whats in my mind...I had started making my own dash with lots of nice curves etc but rapidly found my vision far exceeded my ability. Instead ive played about with the original dash layout, the original instruments are gone and replaced by a Stack 8130 unit and 5mm led's of various colours for warning lights. the centre console ive moved up from ontop of the tunnel to the middle of main dash so it pokes out of the middle as an overhang. However i'm not entirely happy with the results and am thinking a later dash would be better suited to the stack conversion. If it fits.
Really all i would need is the actual GF shell to do this cos the chances are i'll need to re-trim anyway and redo the facisas to to mate with the Stack and my new switch gear. Hence i can trim the length of the centre console to suit.
Does anyone know of a later style dash for sale?
Regards
Iain
