Yipeee i'm off to take a peak....back in a mo.

edited to say................thanks Mike for makeing it all worthwhile. As you know owning a Wedge is not all smiles (he says as frost, snow and ice is waiting just round the corner) but even if i could afford to run a more exotic car - with a heater! the Wedge would be first out of the garage to get me to work in the morning. Like your Wife said "Chimps are for wimps"

Thanks Mike.

Great read Mike, you certainly have a way of conveying your enthusiasm for Wedges. I would be more than happy to take you for a spin in my 450SE if you are in the North East anytime or if at a gathering etc.

Nice one !!

Mike,

You can have her permanently if you want. You're the kind of guy I would be happy to sell her to. But the offer of a blast out stands anyway.

I did like the heavy metal analogy.

Nowt better than roof off, shades on, tanked on Optimax, "Ace of Spades" by Motor Head on full bast......... and you still can't hear it 'cos of the exhaust !!!!

How about this then as our BBWF 2005 Anthem??.

If you like to gamble, I tell you I'm your man
you win some, lose some, it's all the same to me
The pleasure is to play, it makes no difference what you say
I don't share your greed, the only card I need is
the Ace of Spades
the Ace of Spades
Playin' for the high one, dancin' with the devil
going with the flow, it's all a game to me
7 or 11, snake eyes watching you
Double up or quit, double stake or split
the Ace of Spades
the Ace of Spades
You know I'm born to lose
and gamblin's made for fools
But that's the way I like it baby
I don't want to live forever
and don't forget the joker
Pushing up the ante, I know you got to see me
read 'em and weep, the dead man's hand again
I see it in your eyes, take one look and die
The only thing you see, you know it's gonna be
the Ace of Spades
the Ace of Spades

Big finish and then 'thank you goodnight'.

Do you know I might go and dig out that song from my MP3 collection tonight.

I picked them up at Merthyr, followed them over the mountain (run spoiled by sheep if you ask me, their unpredictable and cause a lot of damage!) I didn't have time to stop, bit low on juice and had a busy afternoon of fencing ahead. On the positive side I did find esso super u/l at Brecon, I swear the car was faster and louder going home. Anyone else find this?
Any pros or cons on running this stuff? Also where is the best place to support the car on axle stands to rub the chassis down??

I keep on saying that. Every time I gassed up on Super the car went like stink. Much more get up and go in my humble opinion.

Seen a couple of nice Wedges in Cardiff though on Saturday. A mint condition green 400 and a grey 450 and a red 450. I also saw the very car that started my obsession with wedges. My uncle's old 350i !!

I have a picture of me sitting in that in 1986. It was almost as good nick now as it was then. Brought a tear to my eye....
