well race cars are very hard to price recently one went for 2700 and one for 3 times that.
Steve Becks car the one on e-bay could go straight out and with the right driver be competitive in class A as it stands...
192 BHP at the flywheel is more power than mine has at the moment...
once you've got the car you need
Licence pack - 65
medical - 45
ards test 120-400 ( depending on where and the corse)
Helmet - 15o to >1000
race suit - 250
boots - 40
gloves -35
the above is all one-off
car 2500-9000 ( for a tasmin)
the extinguisher on that car is probably out of date so buget 200 for a new one.
Then to go racing
licence 45
BARC membership 80
Challenge membership 150
Race entry ( 12 rounds) - 1600
tyres ( min two sets) - 800 ( you can do it with one but you'll struggle)
on top of that you need to budget for fuel, accomodation food and spares and repairs..
My costs are about 500 quid a weekend but depend on how much testing you do.

Cheers for the info. Still too much I am afraid. Plus my job uses a lot of weekends. I know there is an engine under the bonnet and a few other things about it like where the dip stick is.
A wander around the cars when they are racing and there seems to be what I would call major surgery going on in the suspension department but the Tas racers are doing in the lunch break
Hats off there.
I would be too afraid of hitting something or engine needing major work. From the point of paying for it.

There is one guy running who might be willing to car share next season as he can't do all the rounds...
Im half tempted to buy a 2nd car and run it as a hire car...

Stop it, Stop it, Stop it, Stop it, Stop it
Seriously, the only weekends I am gauranteed off are the ones I take annual leave. Plus I would be too scared in alterations to the body work I might cause
Watching it and there is some very close racing. Must admit to missing this year due to work.
