Red 400SE, driving down the hill towards the rail station part of town - looked good and sounded mighty.

I was also in Basingstoke, but in a blue one. Two wedges in one lunchtime in the middle of the week in one town centre !!

A rare occurance indeed!

Good to hear that your 400 (sorry I mean 450) is back pleasuring the roads, Paul.

I have been following your excellent efforts with the engine installation - all this followed on from a very loud tapping sound that I heard whilst standing next to your car at the BBWF04!

Re - the red wedge sighting, I was taking a walk from work into the town and I have to say it put a smile on my face for the rest of the day. Infectious these wedges, aren't they?

Hi that was I !
I work at linde at the top of the hill, was nipping home for something. The mighty sound is due to side exit exhausts , glad you liked it

Have never seen you around before or indeed another wedge in basingstoke for ages !!?? Are you local?

I'm fairly local, live in Reading, but work in Hook and spend many a lunchtime popping over to Halfrauds or other motor factor, especially over the last few months.

But now using the 450 again to bed her in and frighten the local residents

Hi Andy,
I am about 5 miles east of Alton. Happen to be working in clients offices down the hill from yours - I am in the big factory/warehouse with the security gates and guardhouse - you will know the one.
Probably be there on and off till Christmas.

You might have just clocked me looking at your car Wednesday, as you changed down a gear for the roundabout (down the hill, before the tunnel) - I was the gent with the folded umbrella walking on the pavement on your right!

No crackles and pops on overun then? - must be the reliable hot wire engine you have

You mean Lilly's ??? There is a guy there with a lovely looking (and sounding.. )tuscan who gives me a wave in the morning.
Do you drive the wedge to work then? (good chance for a blat up the excellent A339 ). Hope to see it about if you do. Maybe meet at lunch one day?

I'm affraid i dont recall spotting you, there again i am now very used to people stopping and staring at the sight and sound of the wedge!
Incidentally it is the reliable (so far) flapper injection and does pop & bang very loudly but the motor was still cold when you saw me!!!

We could have our own mini mini wedge fest one lunchtime , 400, 450 and an inbetweeneee or I'll bring the 350 to have more variety

Anyone else in Basingstoke weekday lunchtimes with a Wedge ?

Do we allow other Tivs to come ?

Yes the drug factory - seen the Tusc in the car park.

I dont use the wedge for the work journey. Keeps pyjamas on in the garage and only comes out to play weekends! - might be coaxed out though, got couple of things to get sorted first, sprung a coolant leak but my wife is having all my attention at the weekends
- she has broken her knee

Anyway meet one Lunchtime - I'll be in contact later
cheers

You've obviously upraded your brakes. You'll have to reposition the glove compartment so she doesn't bang her knee when you stop.
