From my memory of when I had a similar issue on my 350 many years ago the relay that controls the ecu is different to all the rest of the other relays. I think mine was a red relay with 5 prongs, where as the rest were black with 4 prongs.
Hope that helps a little ? But probably different in every Wedge !!

This is where the bible isn't much help as it deals with us spec and series II relay panels. Us early 350i owners have to do a bit of sleuthing.
Suggets you suss out what one of them is; eg: put hazards on and pop relays til they go out. Then use that relay as a tester for the rest. Substitute it one at a time and follow the procedure Wedg1e recommended the other night. Make a map of the board and suss as many as you can while you are at it.
Hope this helps.

Mark,
Thanks for the mail.
Have you tried the fuel pump earth yet. I couldn't discern whether the injectors where ticking or not when cranking and they wont tick when the engine isn't rotating so perhaps get the pump running and then move on to the injectors if needed. On my S1 350i I ran a direct feed to the pump, put some good new juice in the tank and hey presto - loadsa V8 noise! If the injectors are not working once the pump is running search for the Relay as per above and then if still no go try the PR2 resistor pack on the wing - Earth first if still no go try and get hold of one to try before buying - these units do go from time to time but the stock SD1 item will work.

Hi Degz,
Thanks for the reply. You say that you have all the relays numbered , please could you tell me what the values are from the top of the board down. You never know I might have the wrong values/amps etc put in to my board. Someone has said about a Red relay, all mine are grey and black. Also I dont know which is the main relay.

Right, I'm back from fiddling with my pipe in Portsmouth.
What's the latest Mark? Tried emailing you but having probs here again. I can send you a relay map fom my car (labelled 350i though
) if that's any help.
Otherwise, as a desperate measure, I can tell you the wire colours that exit which relay, that should fix it!
Incidentally there isn't just one 'main' relay on my car, there are two. They've both been fried over the years and replaced, but with either of those out you'd have so many bits of missing electrics that it would be obvious; the fuel wouldn't be the only problem.
Joy, talking about TVRs rather than ISO flanges and flame arrestors...
