Fuel lines

I've finally got the Ford 302 bolted into the chassis. I am finishing the headers and then building the exhust system. BUT does anyone know the correct method of connecting the black plastic fuel lines used on the 280i ? Do you use heat to soften the line before sliding the line onto the fitting?

I'm sure there is a tool, but just I trimmed the stretched bit off, added a bit of WD-40 and forced pushed/twisted/grunted the fitting onto the hose. Took some effort, but has worked fine.

I figured you would upgrade the 15+ year old plastic line with some nice stainless tube. Grady
