how do i get at wedge light mechanics

just bought my first wedge. lights just about pop up and down but sound like a bag of old nails. near side needs a little lift to convince it its up before it will go down again. offside flies up and down but closes too far down. i want to give them some much needed tlc but how do i get at them? help please!

I used to pop them up then disconnect the battery. I had nothing that relied on the battery. Or the fuse. Then take the lights out to get at the inside of the pod. There was also a big hole underneath with access to the manual winder.

Thanks guys. found the big hole underneath. Never thought to disconnect the battery with the lights up dohh, got a mind set from my 480ES renault kit car and 944 both left thier lights up when you turned the ignition off. 2 x 3KM fan heaters helped dry the car interior ( poor thing slept out before i got it) and keep me warm as a little bonus.

Luxury, sheer luxury! I need to find a couple of old heaters for my lock up too... Welcome to wedgedom by the way Ron, I'm fairly near the N. Yorks border, and haven't laid up for winter yet, so lets meet for a and compare cars sometime.

I should have added I also disconected the batt to save me pinkies should the motors decide to play when I was adjusting them.

Motors are from a TR7 - in case you were wondering..

do a search on here for them - there have been plenty of rebuilds
