Hello all, just a note to introduce myself and to say I am back in TVR world after selling my Esprit and for the first time becoming a TVR wedge owner. This will be the fourth TVR I have owned, others being an S2, a Griffith and a Cerbera but as much as I have hankered for a wedge it has taken me a long time to get around to owning one, not sure why but I am damn glad I have one now and yep still grinning.

Anyway I purchased a 400SE last Friday from a nice gentlemen in Birmingham and drove it back to Scotland same day, the car never missed a beat and a real test for the car with a route through city centres, traffic jams and of course open roads. The noise is amazing and when I ventured into the errr upper MPH range the change in exhaust note was wonderful, what a noise !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The car itself is Rosso Red with 20k on the clock; quite a tidy car but requires some remedial work discovered by the pre purchase engineer including rear springs and bushes, these will be done in the next week or so along with a chassis clean up and waxoyl. Other jobs will be some TLC to the leather and veneer and some general maintenance but as long as there is no snow and a few positive air degrees in the air I will be out and about with the roof down so if you are up in the NE Scotland and see me give us a wave

Best regards
Hamish

Welcome Hamish

As you suggest, all TVR's are wonderful but when it comes to noise, there's nothing quite like a Wedge!

Enjoy your new toy and let's have some (real) pictures when you can.

Oh yeah, if you fancy a quick run out there's a Southern Wedge meet on the 18th/12

Welcome to the Wedge World and hello from a fellow 400SE virgin purchased mine the day before the BBWF back in July and have driven it every day since, rain or shine, and has`nt missed a beat, hope you have the same reliability and I`m sure as much enjoyment if only from listening to the exhaust note !!!

Welcome to the clan, Hamish. I envy you the open roads up there. The only time I drive in Scotland is with a hire car, which is not the same. I wonder why nobody hires Wedges

Hi Hamish and welcome to wedgedom. I was up around the Black Isle a couple of times recently and had a spin over the top to Ullapool for some mediocre fish and chips last time. Fab Wedging roads up there!

Ullapool - great place ! Did some climbing there during the summer. It's changed a bit since I was last there in 1968 - but then so have I. The new road from Inverness must be a wow in a Wedge, now they've widened it and taken away the passing places.

I was up there on 4th Oct .. drove from Ullapool all the way round the top of our fair isle via Dunnet Head & John O'Groats and on down to Aviemore .. in one day !

It was a fantastic day - the road and views are brilliant - sadly I was in a hire car

Many thanks for the warm welcome from you all, off to Inverness via some fine roads this weekend so hopefully some real pictures though the plan maybe scuppered if we need to take a larger car for the wife’s potential purchases !!!!!

Gazboy, Esprit went to help finance stepdaughters education as we have reservations about the local academy, only issue I have is that her real father will probably not contribute a penny (He certainly not short of a bob or two) but will undoubtedly swell with parental pride during discussion on his daughter’s education.

Anyway it’s not a huge issue just people have different values plus I now have a roaring V8 that I just look at and grin (Saddo last night in the garage) and of course lots of browny points from the wife.

All the best
Hamish

No idea .. doubt there would be much in it .. Gavin's looked bloody quick when he drives it ... might be a screw or two loose there though and that's just Gavin !

Welcome to the joys of wedge ownership, Good to see another wedge up here in gods own Kingdom Next time I'm in the east of the country I'll keep a look out.

To add to the inputs re scotlands roads anywhere in Scotland north of the central belt is sublime for wedging.

Good luck with your springs.....
