Discussion

How much do you want to spend?
Bog-standard Jag XJ6 pads fit the rear (the handbrake uses separate pads to the footbrake on these calipers).
Granada pads for the front, but if you ant a fancy compound to suit your driving style you'll have to do a bit nore research (ie ask for recommendations on here
)
If the handbrake is weak (as in really weak, it was never much cop) it may just need a service/ adjustment. These things are a bit of a black art to get right, most young mechanics haven't a clue
ldgit:
Pulling to one side could be air in a pipe; sticking piston; corroded pads causing them to stick to the caliper body...

The one thing I've learned in owning a 350i for two years is that the handbrake needs constant adjustment, because they are point contact on the disc the new ones need even more adjustment, the point being they don't wear much so they may just need adjusting.
PS nice to see another series one up north, will keep a look out next time I'm on your side of the hills!!

I've got GreenStuff pads in mine front and rear and yehy are a definite improvement over the std stuff, not as good as the more exotic pads but then not as expensive either.
Also some ducting running from under the car to the inboard calipers is another cheap and very worthwhile mod
