Wedges at the old nurburgring.
Discussion
I've been wanting to go and drive the nurburgring for ages, and after seeing the 'ring on Top gear, I now have to or i'll explode!
I was wondering if anyone has taken their wedge over there for some laps?
i ask 'cos i've been looking at some websites and it appears that they have a 95Db noise limit at the ring and i was wondering how strictly they enforce it?

Having watched a high quality video of Sabine driving the taxi round, I would think twice before thrashing my beloved wedge round there. There is almost no runoff before you hit the Armco. Very unforgiving course. Having a car which is too loud is the ideal way to withdraw gracefully without losing face I reckon.

Sounds an enticing prospect, and I know its popular with guys who come to the Zolder event, as its not too great a distance. What would scare me though is coming round a bend at high speed to find a coach full of tourists parked on the racing line, as I saw reported in MCN a couple of years back. Its apparently not that unusual!

You will probably find that umpteen Wedges have done 'the ring' over the years.
John and Linda simpson took their 390SE in 1999 or was it 2000 along with other TVR's.
I went to the ring this year in my 450,and was not noise tested at all althought i did keep the revs down near the start just in case. It's adviseable to check the dates and times which the circuit is open as it does have restricted access to the public, try to get a full weekend when it's open.I've seen the x box game and whilst good it does not do the circuit justice, oh and if you want to see some superb footage of the circuit in some thing quick then buy the Nissan Skyline GTR DVD from Halfwits it has two laps at the end that is just awesome, and take some ear plugs with you as 1000 miles in a wedge can make you go deaf.
