My recently bought 350i has bog standard exhaust pipes but 3/4 of the gas comes out of one pipe. I can see through the lazy rear exhaust the back box, looks as if it has done some work in the past but is clear. The two pipes are not damaged and come from a symetrical Y piece which splits the gas after the centre box. Anybody else had this? Don't want to start going in to check the Y piece for a partial blockage if its normal.

I wouldn't worry, at idle the exhaust gasses are going backwards and forward and probably favour one side of the big centre pipe before the "Y" , you could fit 2 large baloons over the tail pipes then rev the engine to see if they both burst at about the same time.
