I could take some tonight - if that would help .. or you could call Douglas Valley (TVR Breakers) - perhaps they are the same as on the Rover SD1 ?

anyone know if they are def sdi, as i have been told these wedge v8 mounts are what were originaly used in the rover v8 tuscan racers... which if so will save time...

from the pic on the rimmer bros page its difficult to tell if they are much different to the chim griff mounts ( well from memory any way i'll go and have a mooch in the garage at the chim

actually i have 2 scrap v8's in the garage never though to check if they have mounts on...

real pics of a wedge would be a great help..

thanks so far

mmm just had a quick look.

nothing on the scrap v8's but the mounts do look differnt in the correct sort of way from the chim mounts.

the only down side is the inspection showed up the rubbers on the other part of the mount on the chim are cracking

Could they be TR8 mounts? These look like rv8 mounts but are stiffer and the holes aren't quite in the same place iirc.

according to the TVR parts list if it helps, the front one has a part no. 035E 205A and the rear is 035E 208A. looks like a section of channel with a rubber filling with a flat plate in it.

Graham,

Here are pics of my Seac engine mounts .. they really look the same as SD1 mounts ..

drivers side:

passenger side:

Sorry - it's the best I can do without taking them off the car

There are two lower bolts into the block and 1 smaller upper bolt into block - you can't quite see this one.

When you see how they are made - you will wish you just made they youself out of 1/8 inch plate .. cost of DIY about £5

yeah i know but time is the enemy at the moment..

I've already lost over a month of build time and am gagging to get the thing on the track. if these mounts work it will save me a big chunk of time...

the scarey bit is attacking the heads with a hacksaw... apparently all the tuscan racers had a bit cut off the back to fit in the chassis

Just taken the car to David Batty's to have the read wheel bearing done. I'll see if I can get a picture sometime but from memory - I don't think there is one.

Jim

Just went and had a look - the starter motor does not have a heat shield .. if you want one then some heat wrap from someone like demon tweaks is the way to go .. never had a problem with starter motors (8 years of TVR V8's...)
