Chassis Number

Where's the chassis number on a 400 SE??

VIN plate on the near side front wing - should there be a separate chassis number somewhere elase??

The vin plate on the inner wing is the only chassis plate that there is.

I've never seen any others stamped anywhere else.

The chassis number is stamped on the drivers side crossmember upright near the remote oil filter.

Where do you access it from? under the bonnet or underneath?

You can access it from under the bonnet no problem, there should be an area that the powder coating has been ground away to stamp the number on, the brake pipes run along it to the caliper so you cant miss it really.
