Thanks for the advice on misfire. Turned out to be a broken electrode in a plug. Can anyone suggest a good source for a replacement starter motor please?

I mis-diagnosed a faulty starter on my old SEAC and bought a replacement from Cafco Automotive. I took the old one with me to make sure it was right. This was a couple of years and I think it was around the £120 mark. I think the new one was the same as off a 3.9 Range Rover of late 80's vintage. It worked far better than the old one so in the end I was well pleased I changed it. Dickymint could confirm if it's still going strong.

Take my advice and get it reconditioned, don't go through the heartache i'm going thru after being given an exchange unit that is not the same size!
Or if you do get an exchange unit make sure the solenoid is in the same location and the unit is the same size !!!
