Some of you may recall I attempted to get together an Eastern/Essex meet in some threads way back about Dec 2003/Jan/Feb 2004.

Seems it didn't quite hit the spot then.

Wot abaht annuver go I fort!

Maybe a weekend meet about 13 Feb or 13 March so we can raid the Mid Essex TVR meet with a squadron of Wedges? There's a hotel nearby that can do Bed, B'fast and Evening Meal for about £27.50 if you wish(maybe less if I have a go at them). Might be slightly more expensive in March. The price also includes (as far as I am aware) full use of the sporting facilities - pool, gym, sauna and so on.

This would be around the Witham area which would allow us a good little blast to Great Totham for the Mid Essex meet and the luvverly rib of beef lunch!

A mini BBWF? Come on you Wedgers!

Game for the 13th Feb, can't make March date unfortunately - been a while since the last mini gathering and I wouldn't be able to wait until March anyway

Could be dates other than 13th of course - 13th just to coincide with Mid Essex TVR meet.

Had hoped to organise this for before Christmas or for January, but events somewhat overtook me.

Was just thinking of organising a get together of wedges for the Febuary Mid-Essex meet myself forefox, but it seams that you have beaten me to it... Oh well never mind.

Should hopefully have the Tasmin back for the meet, so I'm looking forward to it.

W-e-e-e-ell -

Two takers so far - not many takers last time - even when I suggested a national meet. It must be my charm and personality.

I thought with my astonishing popularity and ability to influence others we might get half-a-dozen cars or so. Maybe people just don't want to come out this way. Yeah - it's Essex innit and you're all toffs!

Don't let me put you off now - Essex is really quite a pleasant place and there may even be a few nicer chaps than me!

I did think the hotel offer might attract a few - I mean £27.50 or £55 for two nights DB&B including use of the leisure facilities!

Thanks Mark - good to see you would like to come along. Hope you get your excellent car sorted.

I think we'll just have to find some way to market Essex to the masses. Doesn't quite have a ring to it does it? - "What are you doing over the week-end John" - "Oh, I'm off to Essex!"

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Sorry Alan - didn't see your post - three takers!

Mine's still hibernating. May do March, if the weather is nice enough to tax it early, or April more likely. Please wake me in the spring.

Feb should be OK weather permitting and provided I'm not dragged off with the kids (it's the start of half term)

Well - may I suggest meeting at 12:00 on 13 September (Sunday) at the rail station at Hatfield Peverel as we did last year?

This then allows us a run to the TVRCC meet at Forresters Park Golf Club at Great Totham. I don't particularly like going all the way out to Maldon to get to Great Totham, but some of the lanes around there are quite bad. Maybe we could consider going a little further up the A12 and driving through Tiptree to great Totham.

If there are some who might like to come along on another date (doesn't HAVE to be on a TVRCC date) there are one or two excellent places where we could meet, such as the Barn Brasserie at Great Tey (they have their own website) which is a very impressive venue with good food, and has a large car park.

I feel a computer breakdown coming on again (have had one or two more recently), so if I disappear Reverend has my telephone numbers. Must get a new machine!

If anyone wishes to stay at the hotel, this is The Ramada Jarvis at Rivenhall End near Witham.

chin chin!

O.K. -

Though it is for the moment 13 Feb, will have a think about changing the date, but I can see that one of you already cannot make 13 March.

Would you all prefer it to be on a TVRCC date? Or would you like just a simple small Wedge gathering?

Derek - V day - whossat? Vacation?

Just to bump this back to the top. The Mid-Essex meet is on this Sunday - 13th. So as my Tasmin should be back (fingers crossed), I would like as many people as possible to come along to the meet and help me celebrate it's return. Would be nice to see you all again. Thanks.
