My father (Janneman) asked me (the wizz"kid" of the family) to post some pics of the hood (and some other things.
I saw that the name triplex is not known in English, so I took my dictionary. It says it's plywood. Sounds common now?
We didn't only do the hood, some parts were covered with immitation leather which was dried and craqued.
