just got a new stainless gear knob, but of course the shaft looks spindly and the leather gaiter does not reach high enough. what can I use to cover up the shaft?
thanks BobM

Either get some leather and cut it and glue it around the gear leaver shaft to make up the difference or get a new gaiter made, should be cheap enough and easy enough to fit.

I had a new one made up for my old S2 and it only cost around £15 and it was in leather and had identical stitching to the original and looked the biz. BAS in Cwmbran made it up for me.

Thanks for that. I could manage to pull up the gaiter already there, just need to fix a way of gluing the gaiter to the rod
