Spotted this link which looks almost too good to be true so I am suspicious.
www.speedydelivery.co.uk/car-tuning-power/tvr-280i.shtml

It says
"Brand new product imported from Japan - A low cost alternative to a Superchip / BBR Starchip for your car. Boost your Tvr 280i engines power by up to 20+ BHP and increase your fuel economy for an amazing £4.95 ! A Mod Chip is available for all normally aspired cars (cars without turbos). Easy 5 minute DIY fitment."

Has anybody tried one?

As the fuel injection is mechanical and not ECU controlled, I struggle to see where the chip would be plugged in. The "ECU" is basically nothing more that a glorified electronic ignition.

Cheaper than go-faster stripes, but not quite as effective, methinks.

They claim gains of "up to 20+ BHP" which is meaningless, they might just as well have said "up to 2000+ BHP".

This looks to me like a variable resistor to slug the air temp sensor and fool the injection system into richening the mixture. You could get the bits from Maplin, though the aluminium knob is nice and shiny!
