Track Day - tow hooks
Discussion
Hi,
I've been looking into track days at Knockhill up here in Scotland and it seems they have put in a new rule this year. They have a requirement for tow hooks. Has anybody came across this before? If so any idea on possible MOD's. Just wondering if this is a requirement for the Tasmin racers? or if it's a requirement for any of the track days anywhere else in the country.

Does seem a bit OTT, but I guess most "ordinary" cars these days have them. You can use the two eyes in the chassis on the Wedges just ahead of the forward end of the front facing tie bars (adjustement for castor) to tow from, as long as care is taken to avoid damaging the spoiler. I've had to do it on the 400 more than once without probs., even with the under spoiler in place.
tow hooks are a pain. a possible solution for the front is to attatch a short strap to the front towing eye ( right under the front of the car0 and tie wrap it to the front air dam, so you can get at it when knee deep in gravel !!!
for the rear we fabricated an aframe with a screw in eye, and boltes it to the chassis in the boot floor with the hole for the eye sticking out the back of the boot.
