I have the electric (or not in my case) wedge style mirrors but can not see the obvious way to strip them. Ive looked in the two holes that are on the surround that faces you but all I appear to see is rust!! Do I need to remove this surround to take the mirror glass out and then to get to the electrics??
Also my near side mirror has a definte droop problem so needs a bit of fixing.

Two holes on the front used to contain screws, you have to undo those to take the whole front off then the motor is screwed onto this from behind.
The 4 wires connectors on the motor just slide out
Mirror is clipped to the motor mechanism and would be easir to remove without breaking anything when the rest is apart.

Thanks for that. Has anyone come up with an easy way to remove the front if the screws have rotted away??

Drill carefully? Take the screw heads off or whats left of them.
