Ok guys, there is a sensor that looks at the crank pulley on the RV8.
I've broken mine and am wondering if it is used to measure the engine speed etc and if it definitely needs replacing? Or is it just a diagnostic plug in point as it goes up to a socket connector.
It fits through an aluminium bracket that bolts to the front engine casing. You have to remove it to get the PAS belt off(which is how i broke mine).

Any advice greatly appreciated.

When the aircon belt broke on my VDP EFi it took off the cable to this. I never replaced it and never had any trouble.
