A neighbour has a 350i they would like to sell, at the moment I have only seen a few pictures and the car looks tidy on the surface but I wont know about the chassis until I arrange a viewing.
It needs some recomissioning such as brakes, battery etc and at the moment that`s all I know.
I have been told they paid £6k for it around 18 months ago.
What would be a ballpark figure for this if the chassis looked ok and it needed some minor work, all which I can do myself.
Having owned a Chimaera previously Im well aware of the pitfalls but this is something I fancy taking a look at.
Mot history looks ok with regards to corrosion advisories, I am a bit reluctant to put the number plate on here but it would be nice to know some of the cars history.
Its a D reg.

Not much in the way of expensive bits on a Wedge as far as the brakes are concerned; even new aftermarket Jag rear calipers can be had for so little it's hardly worth rebuilding the old ones.
Ford Granada for the fronts, Cortina for track rod ends, balljoints, front wheel bearings etc.
Rear wheel bearings are Granada.
Depending on the steering column, the UJs in it can be tricky to find. Non-PAS cars wear them quicker.
Prop- and driveshaft UJs are common, just need to know cap diameter and span across the caps. Fit quality ones with grease nipples and lube often.
Exhaust manifolds rot and suffer from ground scrapes as they're usually lower than the chassis tubes.
Headlamps often play up but are easy enough to diagnose and can usually be rectified without needing new motors (ex-TR7/ Esprit)

As I always say, don't buy a wedge (well not a cooking variety anyway) as an investment because I've owned them for 30 years (yikes) and am still waiting for the mythical price rises.

Thanks for that, I reached out on the facebook group and someone has previously owned it so that is good.
I am not sure I will go for it as it will have to live outside which isn`t ideal really, I just liked the idea it was literally around the corner from me.

Yeah, they're not the most waterproof of cars.
I bought my 390 in August 2000 and a month or so later went over to Saudi with work. Came back a few weeks later and there was 2" of water in the passenger footwell... irked
