....bloke on news who was fined 60 quid plus 3 penalty points for not having a full screenwash bottle? (it actually was working, with fluid in at time!)
The rozzers in Wakefield (North Yorkshire) had gone over his motor looking for faults and this was all they could find!!!!
p.s. car was PARKED OUTSIDE HIS HOME

With this ,i would like all of you to check for following faults on your vehicles just in case.
1) Sweet wrappers in ANY ashtray
2) Airfreshners that have lost their fragrance
3) Tyres that are not very black looking
4) Driver wearing clothes that Mr Plod can not afford
5) Music tapes/CDs involving the following artistes
i)Dire Straits
ii)Celine Dion
iii)S club 7
( although S club 7 really WOULD be crime eh?)

Remember Plod knows best and is keeping you safe and sound in the knowledge that all available resources are being used to catch the bad men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dicuss please.......

p.s. i have mates in traffic ....they too are shaking their heads in disbelief!

They are protecting people. A low washer bottle fluid level means the car is lighter thus will accel and go faster thus a greater ability to speed. QED

You do get some good ones. Years ago in my yuuff I was stopped on a very empty M6 early in the morning doing 136 as recorded on vascar. The nice rozzer man went through all his readings as he'd been following for miles (I had seen him but since the road was VQuiet and new he'd seen me I thought he may leave well alone). He found one at 91mph (The only one below 100mph)and gave me 3 points and a fixed penalty - nice Mr.Rozzer.

I know someone on traffic, not a mate, rarly speak... To have had the attention of our finest for such a thorough vehicle examination the driver must have p###ed them of big time.
To clear things up any vehicle parked on public highway can be checked out, and tax, insurance,MOT examined. If driver is in it, also request his licence AND take an eye sight test. bet they missed that one.

OTT is my personal feeling. As an ex cop myself (uniform not traffic) no way would i have been that determined for a nick.
Unless there's bit's of car hanging off and causing a danger to other road users..or any serious construction and use offence, on your way matey.
Mind you the mentality of traffic officers can be different. Discretion that was what i was taught.

'apparently ' they wanted 'to take his license off him' as well.....can't see how that works though?
...And according to the man himself he was v.polite and cordial at all times...
seems to me that if you are joe public or 'Norman the Norm' from mundanesville you will always get shafted...but if you are a 'Crim'/hardcase/celebrity/scrounger or ,shock horror,an asylum seeker you are welcome to take the p@@@ as they seem to always get left alone?

But remember - any tape left in a car for more than a fortnight turns into Queen's Greatest Hits....

Oh Podie. You don't know what a tape is? You youngsters today, I don't know.

It's one of those long brown, shiny things you see decorating hedgerows on country roads, usually attached to a small piece of plastic with Madonna on it.

Next you'll be telling me you've never heard of 8-tracks.

...in mitigation to some rozzers,
i)I was stopped years ago doing 50 in a 30 in an XR3i (cringe....almost as embarrassing as Tas's 8 track admission! ) ....i was wearing a football top looking like a typical 'yoof'....the nice rozzer let me off with a warning (..turns out he supported the same team as me and they'd won that day!)
ii)two bald tyres and no tax in a mini ...(i was 18 at time) ....nice rozzer let me off

then again...these guys were not 'white tops'...

p.s. I am from the midlands and never venture past Watford without leaving my flat cap and whippet at home.....and they don't serve chips with gravy and faggots (meat variety) down there

Cor - I took a real risk coming to work today...

One of my screen washer jets was badly adjusted
and not working properly.

I feel like Jimmy Dean - a right rebel.

Now lets get this right
This is a very serious offence!

I had a poorly adjusted washer yesterday and found the one at the rear not working at all

By the time Id driven 3 miles in the salty spray I could not see out of my rear window and the front was partially obscured.
(I off course pulled over and cleared the screens after giving myself a dam good thrashing)

This law is for accident prevention and makes perfect sense when applied to winter roads.

There cvan be no comparison to scameras with this one - dircet link to accidents!

How you enforce it is however another debate a happy smiley toady!
