One of my new AVO shocks has dispensed a load of it's oil on my drive. I have been sent a warranty replacement but looking at it last night, it seems that to get to the top bolt, you either have to cut a hole in the boot floor, or (extreme case) remove the body.

Does anyone know of an easier way?

Ta,
Rich.

Don't touch the body. With the car jacked up, wheel off and spring compressed you just need two spanners: one for the nut 12mm? and one to hold the flat on the top of the damper's shaft. It's a bit fiddley but not too bad a job.

Thats rather worrying, I will soon be replacing my shocks and was looking at Avo's, I guess this isn't the norm though as a lot of Wedges use Avo's.

I must admit that I assumed they were gas filled.

Andy,
Talk to Richard at Moore racing he may be able to do some Nitrons for a "standard" set up - they'd be awsome. AVO's are good but are the entry level along with LEDA in the shock world unless you buy there full monty ones! IMHO of course.

Thanks Gary,

I think I will go for the Avo's at the moment due to the expense involved with bushes, springs, powder coating etc, they must be better than the original Koni's which are on the car now
