they do look quite good but to my mind a bit on the pricey side. Bit of a shame they're not half that, perhaps I'm just a cheapskate

Use ordinary car ramps. Burn out two pieces of 1/4" floor plate approx 48"x10" and weld pieces of 1 1/2" angle under one end to hook over the top bar of the ramp section. These are sturdy enough without extra reinforcement underneath and just light enough to handle - and cheap.

The ramps cometh... I will be able to offer Wedge friendly ramps in the next week or 2. Anyone interested let me know.

Not to confuse matters but I use these, there is just enough clearance to drive on and off. They are the size of a normal ramp when the plastic parts are folded up. Grady

Sorry for the delay, but the current situation is that a prototype pair have been made. These are having a couple of minor mods to them, before the great "Wedge In The Sky" day, which I will record to show they work! I'm hoping to get this out of the way this week. After that, they will be powder coated and fitted with a non-slip coating to help the grip when in reverse mode. I will let you have the seedy price details when they are ready.

Well chaps. I tried the ramps out at the weekend. Not enough clearance under the splitter, so the Mark 2 design is on the drawing board. Watch this space...

Any progress?
  • RE: Splitter clearence.
    Which Wedge do you have?

  • I have an 85 350i series 2. Do you think that the JT ramps will work for me?

  • A cheap but effective alternative method is to get a series of 6x2inch planks and to stack these such that they provide a shallow ramp.

Not at the moment. My metalbender and welder, has had an influx of "proper" jobs and is laking in enthusiasm to do anything to mod the prototypes to at laest prove the design. I'm as disappointed as you lot! I will let you all know when I see light at the end of the tunnel.
