I don't know whether anyone else has used this, but this is a laptop based dyno that takes a feed from an inductive pickup attached to a plug lead, recorded through the mic input, filtered, and played through the homedyno software. By entering the variables for the specific car, it converts the rate of change of sparks, into bhp and lbft.
This run was done for my 350i, which has an RTRacing stainless exhaust and mild work on the 'heads, and shows 197bhp@4800 and 237lbft@3600 at the flywheel, which feels about right for the car (ignore the first 2000rpm as it is done in from a rolling start).
