Headlights again

1989 series 2 350i. Having a problem with the the driving lights not working, headlamp flash and the sidelights in the headlamps not working. I have read the bible and apparently there should be two diodes, i can only find one on the side of the fuse box which is situated in the passenger footwell. All have been ok previously. Any ideas on where the second diode is situated?

My 390SE has only one diode, although there is some evidence to suggest that there was once another (located alongside in the relay "block"). Everything works OK though [frantically touches wood, strokes black cat, etc.] - Streaky

both the cars i have had have had two diods attached to the relay block
