After much expectancy I had my MOT today and guess what? It's the outriggers. O/S got holes in all down one side. N/S is ok. So now I've got to repair it.
Any ideas of costs. Can it be done DIY? Any good recomendations for a good job? Last year the car sailed through this year no joy.

I always wince whenever I hear a fellow wedger suffer from this.. not something I would wish on anyone.. assuming it's a 350i in which case you don't need to have the body off (hoping it's not spread from the outrigger) you can remove the sill and get to it that way - so keeping down costs.. see here for full details..
Thanx Seamus - it is a 350i. I've decided to restore what needs doing this summer starting with chasis, bodywork an mechanicals. I thought about getting a Griff but will stay with the Wedge and modify the engine for more grunt as part of the package.
I was gutted though to say the least.

The good news is that I had a chat with Wedg1e and was releived that its not a major job. I can cut away the rotten bits and fabricate the new, I'll get someone else to weld it all together.
Not for the first time will I deal with a job previously reserved for the dealers/specialists and save myself some major cash in the process...I feel happy now!
