I'm the owner of a 280i convertible, but the problem is I don't want to be. I love the car but I'm upgrading to a Cerbera this summer and I need to sell her. I've tried the usual free sites (pistonheads, Tvr-webmart, findit.co.uk. and even ebay failed to raise the cash. Does anybody have any other ideas how to offload my car. Would it sell if I put it in autotrader or would I be wasting my money? Is my asking price of £3000 too much for a very good condition 1982. You all seem to know what you are talking about so I'll trust whatever you all say.............to a point! Cheers

Let me put it this way: I had a 1980 Series 1 FHC that the word on the street was 'worth' £2750 - £3000 in 2000. I advertised it for £2800, a YEAR later (after paying storage charges of £30 a month) I let it go for £2000. It had just had an £800 respray, unleaded engine conversion and was the 36th wedge that TVR built. To be fair I got back what I'd paid for it 5 years before, but not what I'd spent on it in the meantime (not that you ever do).
Last I heard it was in bits for sale as a prospective Tasmin Challenge car... best offer the guy got IIRC was £1100.

Nobody wanted it then, I don't think the situation has changed THAT much.

summers coming - you might have more luck - keep trying - or keep it when you get the cerbie - then you have a wedge for the sunny days and a cerbie for the rainy ones
