I have tried to replace the vinyl (fake leather) trim up the sides and across the top of the windscreen - with no luck at all. It seems to me the only way is to remove the glass, and that is not going to happen.

The door/roof seal is not the problem. It is tucking in the edge close to the glass that I am struggling with.

Has anybody done this successfully?

Oh, and Happy New Year!

Hi Wilf...As i understand it the side trim will need to have the glass removed...As you can see the material is tucked firmly behind it..

Mark,

I believe you are right, but there must be a way that I can do it a bit half arsed. The trouble is that it needs to be pushed and glued into a gap that varies in width and depth. I also am not sure which glue is right for the job.

For car trim and likewise I always use high strength contact adhesive (evo-stick is/was well known UK brand). That way you can pull the vinyl and stick it instantly. With luck you can get a good match up to screen.

Other suggestion is that you can glue a thin 'trim strip' around the inside of the screen to cover up the edges. There are probably quite a lot of options that might work, rubber moulding is probably neatest.

The glue is the key...There are so many types of contact adhesive...Some bond instantly like the Evo impact or contact but some of the spray trim glues like "All-fix" and "Trim-fix" do have a small window of movement, I will see if i can find one that would be suitable..Cheers...Ziga

Thanks for the glue advice. I can find a strong contact cement over here.

And I am thinking Andy is right - that I have to add some trim strip which will fit around the two corners.
