Im looking to replace all my front and rear suspension bushings. Im looking to replace them with good quality poly ones. Does anyone have any experience with poly bushings and what manufacture should i purchase them from that will ship to the US? Also part numbers for front and rear kits would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
MIke

I expect you are trailing arm at the back?

My experience is that the suspension will only go back together one way because the bushings force travel to be in one rotation plane, as opposed to rubber which have some give.

The suspension will become more harsh, but it will be more predictable. To compensate for this I dialled the rear shocks (dampers to you) down a couple of clicks.

To get the rubber ones out, a propane blowtorch works wonders, it is extremely smelly though.

Agree with Adam. Harsher ride but much more confidence in the handling after i fitted them to mine.

Hi mate..Avoid "Flowflex" as they are a bit soft.."Polyflex & Superflex" are good...The poly can squeak sometimes though....If you are going to track it then i would fit the Superflex trailing arm bushes, They are expensive but they are a step up from the original, There is nothing wrong with the original type its just that they are more suited to "Normal driving"...Whatever that is???....

RT racing is very helpful and sell all of what you need...You could email them to see if they will ship out or recommend someone your side of the pond...Im sure the US Wedge guys will be able to help...

Neil at ML performance is very helpful too and sells the bushes needed...Not sure if he does ship out...Its worth asking...

Here is the contact details for Superflex...If you do go for the trailing arm mounts/Bushes then make sure you tell them that you want the correct inserts...(Thinner)

Hope this helps

Bill got back to me earlier today, he sells Superflex bushings at the US dollar equivalents of the GB pound prices shown on the superflex web site.

Mike, Bill's the best source, I ordered mine direct back when Marshall was selling the parts business and I couldn't do it for what Bill can sell 'em for. What all are you planning to do? While you have your control arms off that is the time to replace your ball joints as well and if your shocks are old now again is a good time to refresh them and maybe your springs not a hard job provide you got a press and are patient enough when refitting everything. Mine doesn't ride much harsher (granted I have 16" low profile tires on mine which affect the ride quite a bit). You will get a bunch more feedback in the steering and a bit more bump steer, just more direct. You also may want to ask him about other options as I though I heard him talk about a bushing out of Australia last breakfast I was at.

Are you referring to superflex bushings? I believe they are from Australia, have you heard anything about their product?

The Aussie product is Superpro: www.superpro.com.au

Just done my whole car with them. Just search the site for TVR wedges and it comes straight up. They have the lot including the trailing arm/diff hanger bushes. Can't attest to longevity/ride yet as the car's not yet running (others may be able to assist there)but the staff know their stuff.

Please be aware that using the collared bushings for the strut bar to chassis...(Leading link) can have a unstable effect when braking heavy....As much as pulling to one side in some cases...So using the collared washers makes sense...I believe someone found a supply recently on here..I will see if i can find the post...Cheers...Ziga

Yes that's it superpro, Awesome info, I spoke briefly w a superpro dealer here in the US last week. they said they can get any bushing they manufacture w in a week or so straight from Australia. I gave him the part number from the front "kit" and I think it was $96.00 US, if I recall correctly that included shipping from California to Massachuetts. I was having trouble finding a part number for the rear on superpros websit though. I'll try again this afternoon. I got to go plow snow here now. Boooooo

Let's see - each side:

1 for diff hanger
1 trailing arm to chassis
2 for lower hub pivot pin
2 for rear strut to diff cradle
