Hey Wedgeanoughts,

I've found a crack in the air hose (shown below) and need to replace it. I'm quite new to TVR so im double checking everything I do so I wanted to ask you guys if the hoses I link to below will do the job as replacements.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TVR-Plenum-to-AFM-Rubber...

I'm not keen on fitting anything that needs adjustment (my car is stored in an underground and I have limited access to tools, and no electricity )hence i'd prefer the bendy types above. but this is my fall back option.

Oh i should mention im trying to get this done asap for a drive out to the Kent borders this weekend for the the misuses birthday.

The last one will fit I think the first will also but the middle one is narrower and it dosent look the right shape. Go for the last one as it says its for the wedge.

Hi mate

I wouldn't bother with the first two...Tim at ACT has the correct ones in the last pic for the Wedge..They were modified slightly as a true 90 degree wouldn't work...

Hope this helps...Ziga

Nice looking Engine Bay Ziga, looks smart!

the only bit that put me off was the bit about having to tilt the AFM:

"...so might be necessary to tilt the AFM up at the back."

However, I think i'm just going to buy this one and hope its easy to get into position.

It might be worth contacting him as I'm sure they were re-moulded because of that issue...Or it might only of been the black ones...However mine is not tilted....Thanks for the nice comments....Dont make it go any faster but looks nice...:-)

I will do, I was speaking to Jill and Paul at leven the other day and she recommended ACT for some other bits too. Really nice people they are, full of tips and advice! The Steve Heath book is proving to be a god-send too.

I agree with Zig, Give Tim a ring @ ACT. I had the same problem on my 350i.

Tim supplied the hose, new clamps etc.

Top bloke.

She'll love it as well....Plenty of pampering on offer...Lovely place to impress the ladies or the love of your life...Romantic walks around a stunning venue..Encapsulated in acres of heritage country side...Although keep away from the monastery as its haunted by a naked nun...Its sounds better than it really is...

Here's one for you, any idea where to get the larger bore flexible hose for the jag AFM and a 72mm plenum (80mm external dia)

Because of the position of this AFM I can't see a 90 deg silicon elbow working.

Is it like the Griffs/Chims with two different sizes at each end?...
Perhaps something like i did on the 280i but with a reducer hose at one end?

You could use a flexi-hose air intake for the part from AFM to the Plenum joiner with the reducer hose on the plenum...

I always found ASH a good place for hoses...

Have been reminded by a fellow Wedger that the construction is better of the ACT Black hoses...The older ones had a tendency to collapse under heavy load..

Both ends are the same bore. But i am leaning towards the flexi stuff you linked to, i do worry how thin the walls look though, the ACT one was quite chunky, and the original is ribbed and fairly stiff.

You were right! I got the silicone one and spend an hour trying to get the chap to fit. The angles were all wrong, and I gave up on it in he end as I didn't have time. The air filter end is attached to a plate that i'd have to drill and extra hole into if I was going to angle the whole thing upwards - I could do that but there must be a solution that doesn't need power tools, it's just a hose! haha

Hi mate..What one did you buy?...I just had a good look at your first pic and it looks like the AFM has been move closer to the bulkhead?...Might just be the angle....But if this is the case then none are going to fit...There was an issue with some of the hoses being too soft...The black ACT ones are thicker...My blue one is a bit thin.....I might change it all for the same kind of set up that i had on the 280i....Ziga

I bought the blue 90 degree one, You can see looking at the pictures that it was never going to fit the unique position mine seems to be in. I tried cutting it to match, and almost had it working but to no avail.

here are some better pics so you can see the angles, and elevation that im looking at.

My old wedge was tight as well but if you angle the AFM up at the back you get something like this

Before

After....you can see I kept the front afm brack bolt and tilted the back up about 30 degs ish

you end up with one elbow leg longer than the other but it does work with a bit of fettling
