For those technophobes not on Facebook here is my new wedge I collected this afternoon

These 420SE's are more common than you think lol.....it's my 2nd ;-)

She's been off the road since 2012 and needs some re commissioning and a bloody good clean as a tramp has clearly lived in her lol

Should be done in plenty of time for the wedge fest

Will keep everyone updated with my progress

Well.......

She's had a re spray in the original nimbus grey circa 2004, needs a few areas / scratches touching up. I don't like the rear spoiler so that's coming off as the boot lid has a big scratch on it so will have the holes filled and re sprayed

Interior needs a damn good clean, carpets may be save able but the foot well area are rotten so may just replace. All the wood work is fooked so will need a plan for that.

Engine has been rebuilt......out riggers have been done so that's all good

It's running like a dog so will go through all the electrics and hoses as plenty of perished items

Will re furb the oz alloys (Ideally I want to make them a tad wider, so need to get hold of some new rim lips (if anyone knows where to get them let me know)

Front OS shock is bouncy and has sagged so will likely put a new set of shocks n springs on

I'm sure other stuff will arise as I go through the old girl

Hi Glen, well done and she looks lovely. I may well be interested in the rear spoiler to replace the SEAC one on the 390SE, if it's available.

Quick question but spoke to Mark Adams today re the soon to be RR session for the 390. He strongly suggested fitting the larger Jag AFM so I've tracked one down. Do you have a photo of the jag unit fitted to your previous 420 as I know it will need a bracket fabricating to suit. Cheers.

I'll be following any updates you offer when you are doing it up. I've just got a 350i in the same colour combo and somewhat tramp-esk interior and can use all the tips I can get!

Meguiars number 57 for the vinyl ...Which will also deep clean the leather..

There is tons of products out there...Auto-smart products were recommended to me from a few trimmers...

If the carpet is just dirty then hire a vax and some professional carpet cleaner...
