Sorry Guys

I know this has been done to death but I'm still none the wiser.

I've been reading through a load of old posts via the search function. But lost the will to live.

My standard 190bhp ( on a good day :-)) needs new boots. 205/60/15's. If they where on offer I'd be looking for Toyo Proxy TR-1's but they arn't.

Any suggestions please. Mine are Yoko's with loads of tread but rock hard so very little grip.

I would like to stay with the standard 60 profile if possible?

Cheers Karl.

Wow - Yokohama's - they must be quite old.

I too am on the hunt for tyres but a different size - but you're right the good rubber seems to be out of stock.

On the 350i I ended up going to 205/55/15's as I could get better rubber and there is very little difference in rolling radius. So you could try looking at that size.

Proxes? Run away. I did what I usually don't and followed advice to buy them. I found the ride harsher and the grip less predictable than with a set of Eurotour 408s which were a cheap tyre - but I don't think you can get them anymore.

Had them on the Westfield and they were bang on (Very different car though) But you can't get them in a 60 profile so I'm up for best recommendation. Anything is probably better than the possibly 10 year old Yoko's on at the minute.

205/60/15 - Dunlop Blueresponse is well regarded over in the S cage. On both the V6 and V8 models. Available in the correct size and pretty cheap. A fair few have done trackdays on them too.

Hi Karl,

i've got the uniroyal rainsport tyres on my 350SE( You viewed the car when it was for sale in bits in cannock)

I have to say that they cope very well with the power and give good grip in the wet.

I like them so am now thinking of putting them on my road car.

I've also had Falken ze14's on the front of my road car, they didn't last very long but they coped well with the power and gave good wet grip.

I believe that it's down to personal opinion.

I have Rainsport 3 on both Tamy and Suni.

I have Blueresponse on the Box - diesel with over 300 torques!

I have Nankang NS-2R on the Reserve and Samy.

Blueresonse are available in the factory size.
