GYPO has just come back from the garage and it seems I need both the inlet and outlet oil filter pipes, are there any braided pipes out there and if so where do I get them from. If not braided could someone please let me know where to purchase the correct pipes.

Hi mate...You may be better off removing the old ones and taking them to a hydraulic specialist who rebuilds racks...Pumps etc...They should be able to remake a new one for you...Not sure if there was an off the shelf item?....

Hope this helps..

Hi,

mine were made by the local Pirtek store. They love classic cars and it was not very expensive. For them it´s standard stuff.

Cheers

For the oil cooler pipes on my 390Se I took the hoses to a local hydraulic company (Flowfit) and they made a new pair up for £20, complete with all the right size end fittings.

Thanks again guys for the input, I have just scanned the net and found a company in sunny Scunny which can hopefully help out.

The hose itself is nothing special, just oil-resistant 10 Bar rated (or better, though the higher the pressure rating the less flexible it is which can be problematic with short lengths and tight spaces) rubber... you can buy the end fittings and either use decent worm-drive clips or proper hose crimps. In fact you can often dismantle the old hose and re-use the barbed fittings but that'd be up to you.

Pirtek prices are aimed at industrial users who need their JCBs and dumpers back in action toute suite, it cost me £80 for a two foot braided hose for an air compressor a few years ago.
